Antifémina was originally published in 1977 by the National Editor, but it was immediately withdrawn from the market by the publisher itself and is today a cult book that is practically impossible to trace. She has even won a dedicated exhibition at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía to claim her status as a pioneer of the feminist movement in Spain. With implacable texts by Mª Aurèlia Capmany and moving photographs by Colita, the book was a stir in the fragile climate of the democratic transition that followed the fascist dictatorship.
45 years later, with the effort and leadership of the Colita Photography Archive, which has located and restored the original negatives, and thanks to a co-production between Terranova and the Barcelona City Council, Antifémina sees the light again in a new personally supervised edition by Colita, who takes advantage of current technical excellence to show the photographs just as the author had originally wanted.
