Georgia Spanos had always planned to write a cookbook sequel to When the Tomatoes Are Ready, revealing the other half of her heritage: Greek and Cypriot. Although working full time threatened to lead her astray. Then the world stopped and the gift of time was granted. He booked a one-way ticket to visit family friends in Cyprus and learned to cook at their restaurant. The inspiration for this book comes from the same source that fueled Georgia's last book: her grandparents' honorable sacrifice for family and their dedication to food.
